At this point, we know there are no one-size-fits-all solutions to the modern digital workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Recent surveys paint a clear picture of where we are headed: hybrid work is here to stay\u2026for now.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:30px;font-style:normal;font-weight:600\">Business Leaders Are Optimistic About Hybrid Work&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"blog-link\">According to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/foundryco.com\/tools-for-marketers\/research-future-of-work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Future of Work report by Foundry<\/span><\/a><\/strong>, nearly all organizations (94%) shifted to some sort of hybrid structure due to the pandemic\u2014meaning a flexible work model that melds remote and in-office workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite initial uncertainties around how hybrid or remote work would impact worker productivity, many organizations say the hybrid workplace model was a successful one. Now they believe remote and hybrid work will likely remain a permanent solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"blog-link\">In a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/chiefexecutive.net\/in-poll-majority-of-ceos-say-hybrid-work-is-here-to-stay-for-2022-full-virtual-not-so-much\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CEO Confidence Index survey from Chief Executives<\/span><\/a><\/strong>, research showed two-thirds of CEOs agree to use some kind of hybrid work model through the rest of 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What will that&nbsp;approach look like?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/www.compucom.com\/\/app\/data\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/compucom-blog-Chief-Executive-Group-confidence-iindex-1024x512.png\" alt=\"Compucom Blog - Chief Executive Group confidence index\" class=\"wp-image-3348\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.compucom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/compucom-blog-Chief-Executive-Group-confidence-iindex-1024x512.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.compucom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/compucom-blog-Chief-Executive-Group-confidence-iindex-300x150.png 300w, https:\/\/www.compucom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/compucom-blog-Chief-Executive-Group-confidence-iindex-768x384.png 768w, https:\/\/www.compucom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/compucom-blog-Chief-Executive-Group-confidence-iindex-100x50.png 100w, https:\/\/www.compucom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/compucom-blog-Chief-Executive-Group-confidence-iindex-862x431.png 862w, https:\/\/www.compucom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/compucom-blog-Chief-Executive-Group-confidence-iindex.png 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>About a quarter of those CEOs said they will require a certain amount of in-office time\u2014say 3 days per week, or on specific &#8220;collaboration days.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some will allow more scheduling flexibility, also known as &#8220;employee choice&#8221; or &#8220;at-will&#8221; hybrid models. With that approach, the office and shared spaces are open to all, but workers get to choose when (or if) they use them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"blog-link\">For many organizations, a unilateral &#8220;return to office&#8221; policy does not make sense. (And as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2022\/04\/01\/goldman-junior-bankers-return-to-office-mandate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">some firms learned<\/span><\/a><\/strong>, that kind of sweeping decision can backfire and increase employee turnover.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some jobs can only be done on-site, while entire departments can easily work from anywhere\u2026and aren&#8217;t eager to be forced back to a commute. In that case, leaders are smart to choose a work model that accommodates both the needs of the employee and the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This may be why 33% say they&#8217;re embracing hybrid, but with policies based on the needs of specific roles or departments, according to the Chief Executive survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"blog-link\">Fortunately, this tracks with recent surveys of what employees want: globally, people say they\u2019d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wfhresearch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">prefer to work from home about 2-3 days<\/span><\/a><\/strong> each week once the pandemic is more contained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regardless of which strategy they chose, across-the-board execs say they&#8217;ll remain flexible and adapt their workplace policies as conditions (inevitably) evolve\u2014a wise choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:30px;font-style:normal;font-weight:600\">Considerations for a Successful Hybrid Workplace<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>What does this tell us? Above all, <strong>the future of work is flexible. <\/strong>Companies that understand the value of hybrid will gain a competitive edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"blog-link\">There are pain points, though. From a technology perspective, remote and hybrid work raises unique concerns\u2014particularly around collaboration, security, and <strong><a href=\"\/the-new-employee-experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">employee experience<\/span><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"blog-link\">The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/foundryco.com\/tools-for-marketers\/research-future-of-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Foundry report<\/span><\/a><\/strong> revealed that 69% of IT leaders agree the shift is impacting how they plan for office space, tech investments, and overall staffing, with &#8220;very few preparing for an office-only environment.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From HR to IT, business leaders are now concerned about creating an equitable experience for hybrid teams.
