Remote work is rare, or for limited roles. (Think: healthcare, retail, manufacturing, or <strong><a href=\"\/how-rugged-devices-are-transforming-frontline-industries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>frontline industries<\/u><\/a><\/strong>.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the warehouse to the corporate tower, people need devices that work all the time, on a secure network they can trust. Most likely, the business manages any tech employees use; that means devices will remain at work, connected to the corporate network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an ideal example, all on-site tech and business systems work together seamlessly \u2013 enabling better communication and productivity across the whole building \u2026 and enterprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-medium-font-size\" style=\"color:#000018;font-style:normal;font-weight:500\"><strong>What are the advantages?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>With a centralized workforce, employees enjoy a consistent day-to-day experience. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They get access to a super secure corporate network, potentially with faster and newer tech than at home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IT also gains more control over the environment. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In-person work makes it easier to pop in with face-to-face help, training and deskside tech support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-medium-font-size\" style=\"color:#000018;font-style:normal;font-weight:500\"><strong>See it in Action<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"blog-link\">Nashville-based <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beckershospitalreview.com\/workforce\/hca-employees-to-return-to-full-time-in-person-work-in-may.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>HCA Healthcare<\/u><\/a><\/strong> introduced a full-time return-to-office policy last May for its 235,000+ doctors, nurses and other healthcare personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile we have some roles that lend themselves to other work models, we believe in-person work [reinforces] our culture and promotes teamwork and professional development,&#8221; the company announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This approach helps us provide the necessary support for our hospitals and other facilities, which operate 24 hours, 365 days per year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-medium-font-size\" style=\"color:#000018;font-style:normal;font-weight:500\"><strong>What Employees Want<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In-person workers may have fewer collaboration tech needs than remote workers. Instead, they\u2019ll want fast devices and perks that save time and make it worthwhile to be in the office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"blog-link\">For happier employees, take a cue from their consumer experience. Integrate convenient <a href=\"https:\/\/recomp.5oclock.io\/employees-want-convenient-technology-experiences\/\"><u><strong>IoT or smart devices<\/strong><\/u><\/a> and workplace experience apps \u2013 such as on-demand desk and room booking, or wayfinding assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:600\">\n<p class=\"blog-blockquote has-text-color\" style=\"color:#000018;font-size:18px;font-style:normal;font-weight:600\">&#8220;In an ideal example, on-site tech and business systems work together seamlessly enabling better communication and productivity across the whole building.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-medium-font-size\" style=\"color:#000018;font-style:normal;font-weight:500\"><strong>Support Strategy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"blog-link\">Even with all employees in one location, employers should still practice flexibility.
